Library of Africa and African Diaspora announces West African Writer Fellowship residents

The announcement received a total of 120 applications from nine West African countries and a mixture of emerging and established writers with works ranging from fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, etc.

The Library of Africa and African Diaspora has announced its West African Writer fellowship residents for 2022.

The Library Of Africa and The African Diaspora is an Accra-based research library, archive, writing residency, and institute that has been committed to the work of Africans and Africans in diaspora writers for a long time.

Last year, the library announced a new residency program for writers who are citizens of any of the sixteen West African countries. The residency offers committed writers working on a long-term project, convenient space, and uninterrupted time and space to focus solely on their creative work in a great environment, along with other writers from across the region. 

The announcement received a total of 120 applications from nine West African countries and a mixture of emerging and established writers with works ranging from fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, etc. A total of  eighteen residents were selected, and they include :

  • Molara Wood, from Nigeria
  • Joseph Kaifala, from Sierra Leone
  • Nzinga Bandida,  from Côte D’Ivoire
  • Cheryl S. Ntumy, from Ghana
  • Shedrack Akanbi, from Nigeria
  • FerdulisZita Odome Angone, from Senegal
  • Nathaniel Soonest, from Nigeria
  • Adam Nyang , from Gambia
  • Linford Kennedy Amankwaa, from Ghana
  • Epifania Amoo Adare, from Ghana
  • Ivana Okotowaa Ofori, from Ghana
  • Bartholomew C. Akpah, from Liberia
  • Okupe Mofiyinfoluwa, from Nigeria
  • Henneh Kwaku Kyereh, from Ghana
  • Araba Ofori Acquah, from Ghana
  • Akumbu Uche, from Nigeria
  • Gabriel Awuah Mainoo, from Ghana
  • Immaculata Abba, from Nigeria
